i think i’ve settled on dimensions and orientation for the arena space – matching it with the rest of the massing now… also starting to erode the base for the large and small entrances into the arena (still avoiding plans and sections)…
slow day
started working on circulation and floorplans for the upper floors of the perimeter block and remembered that i still haven’t got the massing figured out…
model making #4
tried some of that grey foam hoping to make the building look a little less aggressive… looking to find the right massing for the ground level but the result still doesn’t look right… going to jump scales to 1:200 now so i can get atleast get one ground level layout for the upcoming presentation (tuesday 11th november)… also the shaping of the top volume seems too arbitrary but again it might be a scale thing~
massing models – third attempt
… maybe it was a problem of working at the wrong scale, but I wasn’t getting any satisfactory results so I decided to put the massing models aside and go back to working with 3d computer models.
massing models – first attempt
these were actually from about two and half weeks ago – I had to finally kick myself in the ass and just do something… so i did…
