This project is primarily concerned with the redevelopment of an urban block as a catalyst for urban renewal. The decision to renew a part of the city is understood as a show of respect and an attempt to raise the profile of the city : Bigging-Up Montreal. Although ‘instant’ developments of large urban areas have a reputation of ignoring context, this project goes big and foamy as it reimagines/reactivates one of the city’s most storied blocks.
